Pattern analysis,
not fortune-telling.
Noomaya decodes your date of birth using a 2,500-year-old mathematical system, then applies behavioural psychology to surface patterns that feel uncomfortably accurate. Here is exactly how — and why it works.
The Pythagorean reduction system
Around 530 BCE, Pythagoras of Samos taught that numbers are not just quantities — they carry qualitative character. His school assigned values 1–9 to each letter of the alphabet and used arithmetic reduction to find a single resonant number for any name or date.
Modern Pythagorean numerology — refined and codified by Hans Decoz (Numerology: Key To Your Inner Self, 1994) — uses the same reduction rule: sum the digits, keep reducing until a single digit remains. The sole exception is the master numbers 11, 22, and 33, which encode a doubled signal and are preserved.
Example only — your report uses your own date of birth.
What Noomaya actually calculates
Your date of birth and full name produce seven distinct numbers. Each report targets a different one.
Your core drive — the through-line of your entire life
The talent you were handed without asking for it
The energy cycle you are inside right now
The emotional layer beneath your rational mind
What you are here to do (requires name input)
What you actually want — often hidden even from yourself
How other people experience you
Reports 5, 6, and 7 require your full birth name. They unlock in the "Go Deeper" section after your first free report.
Why the reading feels personal
Most personality systems describe you in one dimension. Noomaya's core technique — which we call Named Tension — identifies the specific friction between your primary and secondary numbers.
A Life Path 7 (the private analyst) combined with a Birthday Number 3 (the natural performer) creates a person who craves solitude but lights up in a crowd — and spends energy managing the gap. Naming that contradiction precisely is what creates the "how did it know?" response.
Three principles make each report feel specific rather than generic:
Where other systems say "you value deep connections," Noomaya says "you test people's consistency before letting them close — and then feel guilty for the test." One is true of most humans. The other is true of Life Path 7s.
Each number's greatest liability is its greatest asset overextended. A Life Path 8's controlling streak is the same capacity that builds organisations. Naming the shadow without judgment creates recognition, not shame.
Every report closes with specific behavioural suggestions calibrated to your number combination — not "trust the universe," but "block your mornings for solo work; your best thinking happens before the world asks things of you."
The behavioural science underneath
The nine Life Path archetypes map directly onto Carl Jung's theory of stable personality patterns — the Sage (7), the Builder (4), the Caregiver (6), the Seeker (5), the Leader (1). Jung argued these patterns appear across cultures and centuries because they reflect fundamental modes of engaging with the world.
Noomaya also incorporates:
- Maslow's hierarchy of needs — each Life Path has a dominant need tier. Understanding yours explains what motivates you and what depletes you.
- The Relative Age Effect — research popularised by Malcolm Gladwell (Outliers, 2008), documenting how the month of your birth within an academic or competitive cohort shapes confidence, opportunity, and self-perception across a lifetime.
- Shadow work — a Jungian concept: the traits you suppress or deny become the most powerful drivers of behaviour. Each report names your number's shadow so you can recognise it before it acts for you.
Why your name adds precision
Your name, as given at birth, introduces three further numbers through the Pythagorean letter-value system. Each letter maps to a digit:
| 1 | A | J | S |
| 2 | B | K | T |
| 3 | C | L | U |
| 4 | D | M | V |
| 5 | E | N | W |
| 6 | F | O | X |
| 7 | G | P | Y |
| 8 | H | Q | Z |
| 9 | I | R |
Together with your Life Path, the Expression, Soul Urge, and Personality numbers triangulate a reading that is specific to you — not just your birth date, but the name you were given to carry through life.
Honest about what this is
- Interpretive pattern analysis
- A synthesis of ancient mathematics and behavioural psychology
- A mirror — showing patterns already present in you
- Based on fixed inputs no one else shares in the same combination
- Fortune-telling or prediction
- A substitute for therapy or medical advice
- A map of fixed destiny
- Scientifically proven in controlled trials
If a reading resonates, it is because it named something you already felt. The numbers didn't create the pattern — they gave it a name.
What we store — and what we don't
Your date of birth is never stored in identifiable form. Noomaya converts it to a one-way SHA-256 hash immediately on input — the same technique used to store passwords. The hash allows us to retrieve your report; the original date cannot be recovered from it.
- ✓ We store: a hash of your DOB, your report content, your purchase status
- ✗ We do not store: your raw date of birth, your IP address, your name (unless you choose to enter it for the deeper reports)
- ✓ Infrastructure: Supabase EU West (Frankfurt) — GDPR compliant
- ✓ No data is sold, shared, or used for advertising
